The 2026 BMW iX LCI

The BMW iX has quickly become a favourite among luxury electric SUV shoppers since its debut in 2022, thanks to its impressive driving range, spacious interior, and cutting-edge technology. Now, for the 2026 model year, the BMW iX is receiving a significant mid-cycle refresh, known as a Life Cycle Impulse (LCI), that enhances its design, performance, and overall appeal.

One of the most visible updates to the 2026 BMW iX is the redesigned headlights, which now feature sharp vertical daytime running lights that replace the previous horizontal design, giving the SUV a bolder, more modern look. The signature kidney grille retains its size and presence but now offers an illuminated outline with vertical detailing instead of the old web-like pattern, adding a premium, futuristic touch.

The rest of the exterior design remains largely unchanged, ensuring the iX keeps its recognizable silhouette. Another noticeable update comes with the trim names, which have all been bumped up by one number to reflect the updates. For example, the xDrive40 is now called the xDrive45, the xDrive50 becomes the xDrive60, and the performance-focused M60 xDrive is now the M70 xDrive.

Inside the cabin, the 2026 BMW iX continues to impress with its luxurious design, retaining the dual-screen curved display layout that flows seamlessly across the dashboard, paired with premium materials and multiple leather colour choices. Buyers can still opt for distinctive glass controls on the center console and door-mounted seat switches, while the supportive seats can be equipped with a massage function for added comfort on long drives.

Technology and convenience continue to play a major role, with the iX offering the Advanced Driver Assistance Package that enables hands-free driving on most highways. This intelligent system can even perform automated lane changes when conditions are safe, prompting the driver to look at the left lane and then completing the maneuver on its own, including activating the turn signals.

Beyond technology, the 2026 BMW iX improves its all-electric range thanks to a slightly larger battery, delivering between 449 km in the iX xDrive45 and up to 586 km in the xDrive60, depending on wheel size. Performance is also boosted, with the iX xDrive45 producing 402 hp, the xDrive60 delivering 536 hp, and the range-topping M70 xDrive generating 650 hp, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.

With more power, longer range, and refined design, the 2026 BMW iX continues to set the standard for luxury electric SUVs. Pricing has also seen a modest increase, with the iX xDrive45 starting at $89,900 in Canada, the xDrive60 at $94,900, and the high-performance M70 xDrive at $129,900.
